About Stance & Speed
Stance & Speed publishes and sells books for automotive enthusiasts. Stance & Speed has published books in collaboration with Singer Vehicle Design, THe Lane Motor Museum, Speedhunters.com, Peter Vincent, Peter Harholdt, Portland Art Museum, Utah Museum of Fine Arts in Salt Lake City, Museum of Fine Arts Houston, North Carolina Museum of Art, Vero Beach Museum of Art, and the Frist Center for the Visual Arts in Nashville.
The founder of Stance & Speed, Peter Bodensteiner, is a 20-plus-year veteran of automotive publishing and many more as an automotive enthusiast and a racing fan and driver. He has edited or published more than 200 books and calendars, 15 of which have earned International Automotive Media Awards, as well as the International Motor Press Association's singular Ken W. Purdy award for Sensuous Steel: Art Deco Automobiles. He is the author of Art of the Classic Car, Porsche 911 Red Book, 3rd Edition (with Patrick Paternie), and Cunningham C-4RK: Stance & Speed Monograph No. 1.
Peter was responsible for creating and guiding improvements to two major automotive how-to series, Motorbooks Workshop and CarTech Books' SA Design series. His Zone Read imprint published one of the best-selling college football books of 2012, Waiting for the Fall: A Decade of Dreams, Drama and West Virginia University Football. Peter is a graduate of the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University. He lives in Minnesota.
